One of Pixel’s biggest 2017 projects to date has been for Lloyds Banking Group, who have been one of our most active clients since selecting Pixel to be their digital signage partner back in 2013. Namely, their flagship store in Manchester has taken the form of a tech-focused giant, with masses of hardware being installed including a 70” screen, a 65” screen, a six-screen interactive video wall, and a window projector. The branch has set itself apart from its competitors with their unique in-store digital features – who else can boast an LED ceiling that not only creates an ambient atmosphere, but also brings the branch to life at night?
The entire store has been designed to create a friendly, interactive experience for customers and SME business owners. Downstairs has been labelled the Digital Inclusion Zone (DIZ), featuring a quaint coffee bar with iPads on each table to browse everything Lloyds, whether it be for personal or business needs. Projected onto one of the walls is an impressive digital timeline of Manchester’s history from 1829 to the present day and beyond! The DIZ also features the six-screen interactive video wall which further adds to the stores uniqueness.
Lloyds Banking Group have noticed that Manchester has the highest business start-up rate in the North West, and wanted to accommodate for this by creating a Business Hub for those who either own a business or need advice on starting one. It is a free work- space where entrepreneurs can network and learn more about the world of business. There are more iPad-points which provides people in this demographic with useful advice on maintaining or starting a business, the latest insights into different sectors, and an events calendar. The Business Hub also has hidden projectors and screens for seminars, a 60” screen playing useful marketing content, and the pièce de résistance is the large LED ceiling, providing a calm work-space and increased dwell time. The LED ceiling is a sight to behold and really brings the branch to life at night!
The sheer scale of the store was Pixel’s biggest challenge, as it is the first of its kind in the Lloyds Banking Group estate. The challenges came from the large installs, and the vast amount of brand new digital content. Meeting these challenges head on, Pixel utilised best-in-show hardware, our expertise in not only digital signage software, but also content creation (backed by our insight lead approach) and our installation know-how to help deliver a fantastic Northern flagship for one of the UK’s biggest brands.
