The Department for Culture Media and Sport approached Pixel to find a way of keeping staff updated on key departmental news and events in a more engaging way than the traditional, easily ignored emails or newsletters. Through research we knew that the use of non-corporate news feeds gives users an added reason to pay attention to the screen. We also wanted to offer DCMS a flexible solution in terms of the physical location of the screen.
We provided a free standing solution which pushed key corporate messages and news interspersed with national/local news and sport as well as weather and transport updates. The fact that the screen is freestanding, coupled with its 3G connectivity, means that it only requires a PowerPoint and can be relocated to key footfall areas when needed.
